I’m Fletcher.
I’m one of the many twenty-somethings that had their plans derailed by 2020. For the past 6+ years, I’ve resided in academia, studying stars and planets while earning a degree or two. More than anything, though, I’m a devotee of stories.
Sometimes I draw.
More often I write, as you’ll see on my blog.
This blog is my love letter to storytelling.
There will be discussion of novels shoved in next to gushing over cartoons, translations of Latin poetry sandwiched between adoring passages on old Disney movies, and albums of country music praised in the same breath as a comic book series. My interests are numerous, disconnected, and often obscure. Most of what I post will be in the vein of discussing these stories I love.
Occasionally, some of my own work may sneak in.
My biggest project at the moment is Railsend Mysteries, an actual-play podcast. My dad, my sister, a couple of our friends, and I record our adventures playing the role-playing game Monster of the week.
I play Avice Osborn, one of four monster hunters getting in trouble in the Ozark town called Railsend. Outside of that role, I edit the audio, record the music, and put together the art from the podcast. If you’re curious about Railsend Mysteries, you can click through to the show’s page linked above.
I have plans for future work and stories I want to tell. Until then, this blog will hold some of those thoughts and salute storytelling as a whole.
